MURDER COSTS MONEY

Well another day in Vancouver and another gang related murder or two. And thus the title for today's blog.

What alot of us do not realize is that it costs money to shoot and kill people. I do not say this lightly or facetiously. I mention this because it's true. The cost of guns in Canada is prohibitively expensive. Not to mention the fact that illegally obtained ammunition can't be cheap either.

So where does all of this money come from? How much does a quality handgun in a country like Canada cost? Canada, which wisely does not allow its citizenry to own handguns just because they believe it's their god given right to do so, makes it difficult to find and purchase illegal guns. So buying a handgun here costs anywhere from $500 to $1,000. That's a lot of hours working at your local Starbucks just to pay for a gun.

Of course when you run a business that has profit margins in the thousands of percentiles, money is available to buy many guns and even more bullets. And what kind of business has a profit margin that high? Only a few that I know of. White slavery, counterfeiting money, or the most common business run by thugs, illegal drugs.

I wonder how many people would be killed in a gang war if the members of the gang had to wait until payday to buy a gun to do their shooting with. Or 2 paydays so they could buy bullets as well. I guess they could throw rocks but the kill ratio would drop dramatically
and would the membership requirements change to who has the best arm?

Of course this is all nonsense because as everyone knows, there is money galore from selling drugs to pay for guns, bullets, hand grenades and even land mines and machine guns.
Yet the truly troubling aspects of the profits being generated by the illegal drug trafficking
aside from the horrible violence is the staggering amounts of money being invested in legal businesses.  And our political leaders allow this alarming trend to not only continue but actually encourage it to continue by refusing to change their approach to solving the problem.

I cannot be the only person who recognizes that the problem of all this violence is of our own making. By attempting to prohibit a person from using a chemical substance by criminalizing it all that occurs is the costs to purchase it go up and the people our society can least afford to amass fortunes are doing so at an alarming rate.

Ask yourself this question. What would really happen if all sanctions were removed from the use of drugs? Other than, of course, those associated with age or driving or public consumption. Are we all so stupid that we believe everyone would immediately rush out and become addicted? I hardly think so. Yet our leaders refuse to discuss anything approaching a solution to this problem and the associated violence and civic disorder.

So I leave you all with the thought that nothing changes when nothing changes, except perhaps to deteriorate even further. And finally this thought; 100 years ago there were no restrictions placed on any substance you wanted to put into your body. Prostitution was largely legal and the percentage of our citizenry incarcerated was so low as to be almost negligible.

The truth is that the drug "problem" has been created by those who recognize that the more "problems" a society has, the more willing the members of that society are to surrender what little freedom they enjoy in order to "solve" the problem.

So you see, things do get worse when nothing changes when nothing changes.

VIOLENCE IN VANCOUVER

When the world thinks of Canada, certain images come to most people's minds. Such as; friendly people, stable government, safety for its citizens and visitors, prosperity for most and a natural beauty unsurpassed worldwide. And all of this was true for most of Canada's history. Until Now.

For something new, something dark has begun to stain the positive image of this once peaceful land.
VIOLENCE. Specifically murders in numbers never before seen or at least not experienced since the dark days in Montreal during the violent war between rival outlaw motorcycle gangs. An interesting coincidence that; the violence had at its root control of the lucrative illegal  narcotic trade. And once again the spate of vicious killings has as its main motivation the same driving force. Namely who will ultimately reap the obscene profits from the control and sale of drugs.

Oh mind you there are those who claim ego is as much to blame, or the lenient sentences handed out to the poor stooges who act as the front men in the holding and selling of these drugs. The reality however is the simple fact that if the prohibition against drugs were repealed, almost all of the violence would end tomorrow. After all, when was the last time we read of a killing over who gets to sell alcohol or cigarettes. And yet these 2 legal drugs kill more users in a week worldwide than drugs do in a year.

Have you ever wondered why we are determined to repeat the same mistakes that were made with the Prohibition of alcohol in the 1920's? Perhaps if we began to question who really profits from laws which make no sense and create mayhem and madness in their wake, people would begin to demand that laws are passed to protect the citizenry and make this a better world to live in.

If prohibition ended tomorrow, it would not create any more addicts than there are already going to be. Nor would the fabric of our society crumble as so many would have us believe. The same laws and restrictions against alcohol could apply against drugs. Age limits, motor vehicle operation, taxation, etc. All of these and more. Instead we have special interests fighting tooth and nail to prevent such an occurrence.

Doctors, Cops, Politicians, these are just some of the groups who would lose power and they will do anything to prevent this from happening. And all because of a need for power and control. The world, but especially the U.S nee bad guys. Without them the people of the planet might begin to look in other directions. Like in the direction of the economics of our planet.

Wouldn't it piss you off to find out that less than 1% of the world's population controls over 90% of the wealth. And they don't see any reason why that should change. Would you if you were such an elite? Of course not. So instead through the ruling classes control of the media;newspapers, radio, tv. etc. we the people are always letting ourselves be distracted from the real issues. Namely;poverty, genocide, ecological disaster, an economic system which perpetuates the ills of society by distracting us over and over again.

If we would only open our minds and see the wizard behind the curtain. We do not have much time left to save our planet but I believe we can still do it if we begin to ACT NOW. And repealing the laws which only add to the misery it pretends to be fighting is one place to start.
WHAT'S KEEPING US FROM BEGINNING RIGHT NOW?????

Murders in Mexico easily prevented

I know, I know. It's such a tragedy that over 4,500 men, women and children have been murdered in Mexico in the last 12 months. But if anybody except the victims families gave a damn, they would solve the underlying motivation and end 95% of these henious murders.
Not so simple you say? Or how could any simple solution end this horrible state of affairs? Well, I am going to tell you. Or at least anyone who might be reading this blog.
LEGALIZE DRUGS!!!

You see, what no one wants to admit is that if the profits were removed from the drug trade, the killings would cease. Right Now! After all, I haven't noticed any murders over the sale of chocolate or broccoli lately, have you? Of course not. But when you have an artificially created situation wherein the profit margins are so huge, and tax free to boot, we are going to find thousands, tens of thousands of brutal murders continue until the stupidity of our law and legislators change the dynamic and remove any and all criminal sanctions from the use, possession or distribution of any mind or mood altering substance.

I intend to explain over time why this has not and does not happen. How everyone from lawyers to cops to doctors to anyone with a stake in the status quo is fighting against the human race even beginning to think about how nonsensical, destructive and facist our drug law are.

Until next time, remember: DRUG USE IS NOT DRUG ABUSE!
